Playing through Grandia on the Saturn this month, I found that the best maps still come from an old guide that Fahim Farook mirrored to Tripod several decades ago (found here). His copy was an adaptation of one by Falcom, hosted on the now-defunct Xoom hosting service. And Falcom’s copy was ripped from IGN, which stole it from UK Saturn magazine, which itself copied it from a Japanese Saturn magazine. Quite the legacy.
Anyway, Tripod appears to be on its last leg. Attempting to use Fahim’s guide resulted in pages returning a 502 Bad Gateway about 80% of the time. Sometimes the pages would load but images wouldn’t. Sometimes nothing would load at all. It was a mess.
With the help of wget looping infinite retries against the Tripod site, I’ve managed to mirror Fahim’s Grandia walkthrough complete with maps here.
